Electrical panels

Plan for the power your property needs.

Adding equipment or improving an older property? Start with a conversation about your electrical panel, existing capacity, and the work you have planned.

Start with your complete project

A panel conversation should take account of what the property uses today and what you want to add. A charger, kitchen renovation, heat pump, workshop, or other equipment can affect the overall plan. Make a list of known future projects so the discussion does not focus only on the next purchase.

Space and capacity are different questions

An open position in a panel does not by itself establish that a property can support more electrical demand. Equipment ratings, existing loads, service capacity, and the condition of the installation all matter. Have the system evaluated before assuming that a new device can simply be added.

Projects to talk with us about

  • Planning an EV charger or major appliance
  • Reviewing an existing panel during a remodel
  • Discussing future electrical demand
  • Understanding a proposed service change

What affects the project scope

Panel location, access, existing wiring, meter arrangements, and the proposed equipment can shape the work. Depending on the project, utility coordination and permit or inspection steps may also be involved. Ask which responsibilities are included in the proposal and what information is needed before scheduling.

Prepare for a useful conversation

Provide your address, a description of the planned additions, and the equipment specifications you already have. A photo of the exterior of the closed panel and its visible labels may help. Leave panel covers in place. We can discuss what information is still needed to evaluate your project.
